About Me
My name is Ron Barnes. I am a certified IT Technician and Web Designer from Eugene Oregon. Surreal PC Services is the collective services I offer to the Eugene and Springfield areas. My services include computer diagnosis, repair, upgrades, custom builds and web design.
I am currently working on obtaining multiple certifications to further my career as an IT Technician. For almost as far back as I can remember I have been fixing, tinkering and learning about computers and software. From the shockingly outdated, to the extremely cutting edge new operating systems, I know my way around most of them.
In recent years I have been expanding my experience with Linux and have worked with distributions based on Red Hat, Debian and Slackware. Probably the most important thing I have learned is configuring Linux computers with Samba so that they may be easily connected to a Windows network.

In my free time I can usually be found typing away at the old keyboard or working on one of my vehicles. I do have an occasional interest in PC and video games but I have a short attention span when it comes to them nowadays.
